Liverpool Watch: Blackburn
Can you see the passion in Crouchy's eyes? Look at him. He's a beast... failing miserably against Blackburns tight defense. Blackburn are title contenders- sorry, they were title contenders back in 1992-1995.Here are the highlights from Saturday's match:
Here's proof that Liverpool have the ability to beat Blackburn using the scientific method of Fifa 2008 on my shiny PS3: Babel has time for some keepy up before an overhead flick and left foot smash.

Liverpool Watch: Arsenal
Well, that was lucky. It could've been much worse. Then again, if Liverpool managed to keep their early lead, the Kop could currently be 3 points behind Arsenal.

Liverpool Watch: Everton
That was too close for comfort. Who knew Liverpool could come back from behind at that stage of the game? They may have been trying to outscore themselves but it was still a tight one.
It was another controversial game for Liverpool this season but at least we won this one. Unlike that shambolic Chelsea game... I still hate you Rob Styles. I know you read this blog. I hope you cry yourself to sleep.
Bonus Livepool video collection: 100 Players Who Shocked The Kop
It's the follow-up to the 100 Days That Shook The Kop feature I compiled a few weeks ago. A run-down of the list can be found on bill-shankly.blogspot.com.

Liverpool Watch: Tottenham FC
I honestly don't know what to say in regards to the Kop's recent form after a promising start. I'll leave it to Tottenham Hotspurs fan favourite Glenn Hoddle:
"75% of what happens to Paul Gascoigne in his life is fiction"
"With hindsight, it's easy to look at it with hindsight"
"Football's all about 90 minutes"
"Robert Lee was able to do some running on his groin for the first time"
"When a player gets to 30, so does his body"
"But he was a player that hasn't had to use his legs, even when he was 19, because his first two yards were in his head"
"International football is one clog further up the football ladder"

Liverpool Watch: Benayoun Versus Wigan
Well, what do you know- three full points. The match against Wigan could prove to be essential when Liverpool are fighting to beat Arsenal and newcomers Man Yoo to the top spot at the end of the season. I would bet, even money, on that.
Here are the highlights from the Reading versus Liverpool game in the Carling cup match from last Wednesday. That Freddy Torres, or whatever his name was, is alright I suppose but he's no Emile Heskey.

Liverpool Watch: Birmingham
Liverpool 0-0 Birmingham
To be fair, Birmingham are a world class team with such quality players as Rowan Vine and Stuart Parnaby. Hopefully, in their next match against Reading in the Carling Cup, Liverpool will make it four draws in a row. That'll show Chelsea who's boss.

Liverpool Watch: Portsmouth

Now, that's the Liverpool I remember! Win all the important matches and then barely manage a point against losers like Portsmouth. I mean, who are they? Nobodies, that's who. What have they ever achieved? Nothing. It happened in 2002 when they last topped the table and lost against Tottenham, who were low in morale and looking for a competent manager at that point. Anyways, here are the highlights from Saturday's match:

100 days that shook the Kop
As long as I can remember, I've been a Liverpool fan. Maybe it's because my older brother forced me to, or that every Man-yoo supporter in my school class were arsewipes. Nobody in their right mind would be a Chelsea fan back then. I've always found that Liverpool are a team worth supporting. On Liverpoolfc.tv, the offical site, fans were asked to name what they thought were the most important days in Liverpool history. The compilation had a weekly feature with downloads for each one. One of the Liverpool faithful recently uploaded almost every single one onto youtube. Some of them are download only.

Liverpool Watch: Derby
What a good time to be a Liverpool fan. Six fantastic goals (which should've been twelve) even with Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher on the bench. Top of the table for the first time since November 2002. I can't believe it's been that long.

Liverpool Watch: Sunderland
I found the extended highlights on DivShare because of the same problem as last week where Youtube clips are taken down by ninja-type lawyers. I'd only recommend playing the clip if you've got broadband.
I've also found a cool one-hour video called "Fowler's Hot 100" as seen here on Amazon. There are a lot of great goals there and they're during my favourite Liverpool era with the "Spice Boys" and all that starting up. McManaman says in the follwing video "I think he's jusy like um unbeliveably lucky in the box and every one of them have just bounced off his knee and gone in". I'm sure that's not totally true...
Tomorrow will be 13 years to the day since Fowler scored a hat-trick against Arsenal:

This deserves it's own weekly feature
I have reached a new level of hatred for Chelsea the cheaters. There was something incredibly fishy about the decisions made last Saturday by Rob Syles. The main issue is the penalty that never was. It was only given because of some pressuring from John Terry and the rest of the team. Second, a confusing decision to book John Terry from 15 yards away after he ran up to Essien appearing to give a second yellow card but then changing his mind. Throughout the game there were many occasions where Liverpool players were clearly fouled and almost Gerrard almost purposefully stamped upon by Mikel. I always thought that a match between two of the top teams in English football deserved at least a competent referee.
In an interview after the game, when asked about the decision and whether he saw Rob Styles being pressured to give a spot kick, Jose Mourinho said that his team wouldn't do that because the team were "naive and pure". Rafael Benitez heard this and said that if that was true then "I'm Little Red Riding Hood".
As a result of the poor refereeing decisions made, it was announced that Styles would be banned for one round of Premiership matches. He's since seen the video footage and now knows that he got it wrong and is deeply apologetic. It's also been revealed that Styles is on the board of the firm which paved the driveway of Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich. So it's a conspiracy now? Interesting...
Anyways, I've embedded below the highlights of the entire match as hosted by Megavideos because of some silly legal issue on YouTube. If all you want to see are the goals then here is Torres' classy shot and Lampard's "penalty".
This kind of refereeing/ cheating really pisses me off so much so, that I need a fix of football comedy to cheer me up. That's why I like to turn to funny compilations such as this one on youtube. My favourite moment would be just before the 2 minute mark where a Ronaldihno wannabe has everyone highly confused, Ted.
