Real-life X-Wing launch (and what really happened)

Here is a short clip of a scale model X-Wing which, after completion, was launched into the sky. I'm just going to throw it out there and say the launch area looks like Tatooine which is a nice coincidence. Watch the 22 second highlight clip or you can see the full 5 minutes here ("Nooo, we lost R2!"):
Now, here's an ingenious editing of the video. I don't want to embed it into the post because it ruins the suprise.

"Ever dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"

Howstuffworks.com has a fantastic evaluation of Batman's most famous arch-nemisis as well as my personal favourite as a huge Batman comic book fan. From his origins in appearance to his career of sorts throughout the comics (graphic novels such as the Joker origin story 'The Killing Joke') and in TV shows or as voiced by Mark Hamill in the animated series ('Mask Of The Phantasm' is a particular highlight).

They go on to cover his ability as a dangerously psychotic character and what Heath Ledger will bring to the role. 'The Dark Knight' is easily the most exciting film of next year to me. I don't care what everybody else says.

Lego, Lego and more Lego

The Simpsons recently had a couch gag in Lego. It's not as, err... I'm not sure what the word I'm looking for is... animated as I would've liked it.

This is Halo 2's Zanzibar map (Halo 3's Last Resort) made completely out of Lego. It's an amazing bit of dedicated construction work. What's most impressive to me is the fact that he managed to get so many unusually coloured bricks to finish the piece. It was featured in the bonus disk that came in the Legendary Edition Halo 3. Here it is:

Here's an awesome stop motion video of the construction of the old Millenium Falcon lego set. The only that stops this video from being perfect is the music. And the end. And the amount of wasted time. Yeah, on second thoughts the whole thing pretty much sucked. Watch it now!

I say old Millenium Falcon because Lego have just released the Ultimate Collector's Edition Millenium Falcon. It's the biggest Lego set ever made with 5,195 pieces all for the low, low price of €549.99! For some reason, it's limited to 5 per customer which is a disgrace. Hopefully, Santa will be good to me and bring 6 anyways. Watch a time lapse of the construction of this beast on Gizmodo.

Serves you right, Mr. Gates

I'm a bit behind with this whole blogging hobby of mine. It's got a lot to do with the video below of Bill Gates giving a presentation for the functionality of Windows 98 OS:

Those rich guys have all the fun

Those legs up in the air there are attached to Carmen Electra of "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" fame. I don't know what's worse- The fact I'm not in Richard Branson's shoes in that photo or the fact I saw Cheaper by the Dozen 2 in the cinema.

The greatest live performance ever *update*

Look at those dance moves! This has the potential to be the next Miss Teen South Carolina video.

The single greatest live performance ever.

It's Justice performing D.A.N.C.E. but not really. It features the radio version of the song mimed by Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart (or is Barry Manillow?) and Rick James, bitch.

According to presenter Jimmy Kimmel, the track is apparently from Justice's self-titled album "†". You can see the Justice duo Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay making a cameo tuning the radio at the beginning. Kimmel introduced them by saying "Alright. This is going to be wierd". Indeed:

Justice's video for this song was so good, Kanye West decided to make his own version. Check out this crazy freestyle he had with Mos Def:
