Movie Trailers*

*Nominated in the category of best blog post title in the World Blog Awards For Outstanding Achievements In The Field Of Excellence.

I'm Not There
aka "I'm Not There: Suppositions on a Film Concerning Dylan"

Starring: Christian Bale as Bob Dylan, Heath Ledger as Bob Dylan, Richard Gere as Bob Dylan, Marcus Carl Franklin as Bob Dylan, Ben Wishaw as Bob Dylan and Cate Blanchette (who looks more like Bob Dylan than Bob Dylan). Click here for the trailer.

In The Valley Of Elah
The new Paul Haggis written and directed film which is bound to win many oscars. I have to say I did not care at all for Crash. I noticed there was some subtle racism which made me feel really uncomfortable. You have to look carefully though. It's somewhere in the end credits. After the hair and makeup artists there's a little note saying: "I, Paul Haggis, hate black people. I do, however, have no opinion on the Mexicans". Anyways, here's the trailer.

Michael Clayton
George Clooney stars in a film I know knothing about but the trailer sure is exciting. I think it's a comedy of some sorts. Here's the plot synopsis: Michael Clayton is an in-house "fixer" at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. Though burned out and hardly content with his job, his divorce, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton inextricably tied to the firm. At U/North, meanwhile, the career of litigator Karen Crowder rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton's firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion. But when Kenner Bach's brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

See? Exciting stuff. It might need some car-chases, shaky-cam and an evil genius who's plan is to steal all the salt packages in every Supermacs all across Galway. The trailer is, as always, on youtube.

Gone Baby Gone
Directed by Ben Affleck of all people, this film has the promise of being amazingly good. Boston folk are calling it the best film set in Boston. That is one impressive feat considering the amount of amazing films set in Boston which includes Perfect Storm (apparently set in Boston), Sabrina The Teenage Which and Ice Princess). Here's the trailer.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Starring Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck (again? he's so hot right now) in a film that is almost completely compressed into the following two minutes so you don't have to see the film:

Coming soon to a theater near you

I wanted to get these trailers out of the way since the computer is crashing all the time and and I don't have the time to post that huge one I promised yesterday until tomorrow.

Be Kind Rewind

Jack Black. Mos Def. Michael Gondry. That's all you need to know.

Lars And The Real Girl

Ryan Gosling stars in "A heartfelt comedy starring Academy-Award nominated Ryan Gosling as Lars Lindstrom a loveable introvert whose emotional baggage has kept him from fully embracing life. After years of what is almost solitude, he invites Bianca, a friend he met on the internet to visit him. He introduces Bianca to his Brother Gus (Paul Schneider) and his wife Karen (Emily Mortimer) and they are stunned..." Check out the trailer for more. It looks like good fun even though I've a feeling that the trailer gives a bit too much away as most trailers do.

The Nines

The other Ryan, Mister Reynolds stars as "A troubled actor, a television show runner, and an acclaimed videogame designer find their lives intertwining in mysterious and unsettling ways." This looks really interesting. It's from John August, the screenwriter of "Go" and "Big Fish" and is currently working on the Captain Marvel and Prince Of Persia movies. I'm assured that they're two different films.

Alvin And The Chipmunks

Check out the high-larious moment where alvin eats some doodoo. HAhahaha. Comedy gold. After this and Underdog, you can see that Jason Lee is really moving up since his days as "Teenage Drug
Customer" in "Mi Vida Loca".

Films To Look Foward To

Knocked Up

This comes from the director (and a good selection of the cast) of 40-Year Old Virgin, Judd Apatow. He also made Freaks And Geeks.

------------

The Simpsons Movie

I can't wait for this. This will make or break the Simpsons for me. If it's anything as good as the trailer, I'll need new pants.
------------

DIE HARD 4.0

I have a feeling this trailer might include every good scene expected film in the same way as Borat did (Car versus Helicopter, Ode To Joy, Yippee Kay Yeay etc). It looks like it'll be a tribute to the Trilogy with it's in jokes and self references but with a modern twist in this computer based world hence the Four Point Oh.

------------

Evan Almighty

Steve Carrell deserves to be in more movies quickly before people notice he plays the same characters over and over.

------------

Transformers: Robots In Disguise

Optimus Prime has got some moves! I already can't wait for the sequel... Transformers: Robots In Drag. Bound to be great.
